THE BACKGROUND OF DIGITAL EDUCATION IN ARCHITECTURE

JERZY WOJTOWICZ

Against the background of the digital revolution, the Polish experience is a subject related to the beginnings of information science and the resulting new information culture. Among figures of significance in the development of computerization there are several Polish names: Jan Czochralski whose method, developed in 1916, is today the basis for production of microprocessors, the RPN 1920 (Reverse Polish Notation) of Jan ┼üukasiewicz, the works of Stefan Banach and Alfred Tarski or Marian RejewskiÔÇÖs work on the Enigma, later developed by Alan Turing. We could also mention Stanis┼éaw Ulam from the Lw├│w School of Mathematics, author of works in the field of topology, set theory and measure theory, and inventor of the Monte Carlo method of computation, as well as one of the first scientists to use in his work the earliest computers, which also served in the theory of constructing the hydrogen bomb.
