a / conducting research on the role of architecture in creating and maintaining spatial order, improving the quality of the environment and building identity, and integrating efforts at individual universities to achieve these goals;

b / promoting science and architectural culture on the national forum as an important element of cultural development and taking actions to disseminate such promotion;

c / identification of problems and challenges related to the development of the discipline;

d / issuing opinions on regulations and other documents prepared at the national level regarding the directions and conditions for the development of the discipline of architecture and town planning;

WORK PLAN OF THE URBAN PLANNING SECTION

1. Cooperation:

- with the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning (universal education about space)

- with the National Spatial Development Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences (spatial planning issues. Model of spatial planning, including local planning, with particular emphasis on the urban form / urban design)

for cooperation with the Society of Polish Urban Planners, including joining the preparation of the Society's 100th anniversary

- with the Urban Morphology Section of the Urban Planning and Architecture Commission at the Krakow Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences, with ISUF - International Seminar on Urban Form and with ISUF POLSKA - the regional network of International Seminar on Urban Form.

2. Proposals for work:

- querying descriptive and methodological studies on urban forms present in Poland,

- Contemporary town planning - a glossary of important terms

- Urban space - beautiful and rational. Catalog of good examples (realizations, projects, law, procedures)

3. Important current problems:

  • issues related to the relationship between science and practicing the profession of urban planner and spatial planner,

3.2. issues related to the role and prestige of the architect profession and the defense of copyrights,

3.3. issues related to the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity and the need to correct its rules for the discipline of Architecture and Urban Planning,

3.4. spatial order - the need to strictly define the term in legal provisions,

3.5. the necessity to organize a platform in order to exchange information, collect data collected during the work being prepared and create a library of scientific studies from available internet sources was established.

WORK PLAN OF THE ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN HISTORY AND CULTURALHERITAGE PROTECTION SECTION (HISTORY SECTION)

There are three levels of work to be carried out within the section:

1. Research and documentation level

2. Research, methodological and application level

3. The level of theoretical premises for the contemporary protection of cultural heritage

Ad. 1. Proposals of research topics, ending with a report or publication:

1.1 70 years of operation of the Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Historical study summarizing the subject and forms of activity of KAiU established in 1952 KAIU.

1.2. Cross-border issues in research on the history of architecture and town planning on the example of Wrocław.

1.3 Reconstruction of old European cities.

Ad. 2. Proposed topics ("between science and practice"):

2.1 Scientific foundations in the contemporary process of protection of cultural heritage.

2.2 Residential and farm complexes with a multi-level compositional and functional order, shaped from the scale of a single building to the cultural landscape. Research, possibilities of protection and use.

Ad. 3. Reasons for modifying the theoretical assumptions for the protection of cultural heritage / conservation of monuments resulting from contemporary needs and trends in contemporary architecture (working title)
