SPATIAL DETERMINANTS OF WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE HOME ENVIRONMENT

Every human activity generates waste. In recent decades, the amount of waste started to significantly increase at the same time threatening people and the environment due to the content of harmful substances such as plastics, heavy metals and dangerous chemicals. The current waste management policy requires elimination of these substances from landfills, reducing the overall amount of waste deposited in landfills and increase in the fraction recovered for recycling. At the level of household waste should be segregated, at least into four fractions. In order to determine the impact of waste management for the development of man's closest environment, ie household, it is necessary to analyze the waste management system at various levels resulting from the waste collection and segregation until their transfer to further treatment, disposal or landfilling. This article seeks to provide propositions for new solutions to such management of space at home to reduce the space occupied by the waste.
