Gdańsk, 24. maja 2013
VII Plenarne Posiedzenie Komitetu Architektury i Urbanistyki Polskiej Akademii Nauk oraz Seminarium Naukowe p.t. „Stan obecny i perspektywy rozwoju kierunku architektura i urbanistyka na polskich uczelniach” odbyło się w piątek 24. maja 2013 r. na Wydziale Architektury Politechniki Gdańskiej o godz. 10.00.
PRZEBIEG OBRAD :
Przewodniczący KAiU prof. Zbigniew Bać:
- sprawozdanie ze Zgromadzenia Ogólnego Polskiej Akademii Nauk i wyborów członków korespondentów i członków rzeczywistych PAN.
Seminarium naukowe p.t. „Stan obecny i perspektywy rozwoju kierunku architektura i urbanistyka na polskich uczelniach”.
Referaty naukowe :
- Przewodniczący KAiU Prof. Zbigniew Bać: referat wprowadzający w problematykę seminarium
- Prof. Andrzej Baranowski (KAiU) oraz Prof. Lucyna Nyka (KAiU) : "Stan obecny i perspektywy rozwoju kierunku architektura i urbanistyka na polskich uczelniach - problemy badań naukowych"
- Prof. Antoni Taraszkiewicz - Dziekan Wydziału Architektury Politechniki Gdańskiej z referatem "Research by Design - metodologia badań architektonicznych"
- Prof. Wojciech Kosiński (KAiU) p.t. "Stan obecny i perspektywy rozwoju kierunku architektura i urbanistyka na polskich uczelniach - zagadnienia dydaktyczne"
- Dyskusja problemowa
Wnioski :
W odniesieniu do problematyki naukowo-badawczej i statusu kierunku architektura i urbanistyka:
- Komitet Architektury i Urbanistyki PAN będzie kontynuował działania na rzecz uwzględnienia kierunku architektura i urbanistyka na listach paneli NCN
- KAiU podejmie kroki na rzecz uwzględnienia kierunku architektura i urbanistyka w konkursach NCBiR
- Proponuje się powołanie Międzywydziałowego Naukowego Klubu Badań Architektury i Urbanistyki mający na celu śledzenie i ocena publikacji naukowych w dziedzinie architektura i urbanistyka.
W odniesieniu do najważniejszych problemów dydaktycznych:
- KAiU zdecydowaną większością głosów opowiada się za przywróceniem jednostopniowego systemu studiów
- praktyki projektowe odbywane w trakcie studiów należy wydłużyć do min. pół roku np. w formie pracowni projektowych na wydziałach architektury
- w dydaktyce należy zwiększyć udział wiedzy interdyscyplinarnej i kształcenia umiejętności współpracy międzybranżowej.
W odniesieniu do problemów rozwoju kadry naukowej
- KAiU opowiada się za przywróceniem "starego trybu" awansów
ñ- KAiU opowiada się za równorzędnym traktowaniem dorobku twórczego w procedurach awansowych
Ostateczny kształt opinii KAiU przewidzianej regulaminem zostanie opracowany przez wybranych członków Komitetu na podstawie opinii cząstkowych przekazanych do Prezydium KAiU.

The 7th Plenary Meeting of the Committee of Architecture and Urban Planning (KAiU) of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and the Scientific Seminar on "The Current State and Development Prospects of the Field of Architecture and Urban Planning at Polish Universities" was held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10 am at the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Gdańsk.
COURSE OF THE DEBATE:
Chairman of KAiU, Prof Zbigniew Bać:
ñ Report of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences and of the election of corresponding members and regular members of PAN.
Scientific seminar on "The Current State and Development Prospects of the Field of Architecture and Urban Planning at Polish Universities".
Scientific lectures:
- Chairman of KAiU, Prof. Zbigniew Bać: Lecture introducing issues of the seminar;
- Prof. Andrzej Baranowski (KAiU) and Prof. Lucyna Nyka (KAiU): "The Current State and Development Prospects of the Field of Architecture and Urban Planning at Polish Universities – Problems of Scientific Researches"
- Prof. Antoni Taraszkiewicz - Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Gdańsk; Lecture on "Research by Design – Methodology of Architectural Research"
- Prof. Wojciech Kosiński (KAiU): "The Current State and Development Prospects of the Field of Architecture and Urban Planning at Polish Universities – Teaching Issues"
- Discussion over issues
Conclusions:
With reference to research issues and the status of the field of architecture and urban planning:
- The Committee of Architecture and Urban Planning will continue to act in favour of taking into account faculties of architecture and urban planning in the lists of NCN panels.
- KAiU will take action to consider the field of architecture and urban planning in NCBiR competitions.
- The appointing of the Interdepartmental Scientific Club of the Research on Architecture and Urban Planning is being proposed, to track and evaluate academic publications in the field of architecture and urban planning.
With reference to the most important teaching problems:
- KAiU, by a super majority of votes, is in favour of restoring the one-step system of studies.
- During the course of studies, one should extend a design apprenticeship to min.
6 months, e.g. in a form of design studios at faculties of architecture.
- In didactics, one should extend the participation of interdisciplinary knowledge and educating in the ability of interbranch cooperation.
With reference to issues of the development of research personnel:
- KAiU is in favour of restoring the "old system" of promotions.
- KAiU is in favour of equal treating of creative achievements in promotion procedures.
The ultimate shape of KAiU's opinion, expected by regulations, will be drawn up by the chosen members of the Committee, based on constituent opinions delivered to the Presidium of KAiU
